Mission
SFIC provides children in need with the opportunity for a quality, values-based education in a safe environment. The fund provides partial-tuition scholarships to economically disadvantaged children attending private and parochial schools within Bergen, Essex, Hudson and Union counties. Scholarship awards are based upon need without regard to race, religion or ethnicity.
Measuring Our Success
Student Academic Achievement:
Elementary school students who attend parochial schools consistently attain higher achievement test scores in Language Arts and Math than their counterparts in neighboring public schools. In addition, 100% of parochial high school seniors take the SAT tests, as opposed to only 50% at neighboring public schools.
High School Senior Survey:
Our most recent Senior Surveys report that of the high school seniors assisted, 100% graduated and 97% were pursuing higher education.
Student Attendance:
SFIC elementary school students have a 98% daily attendance rate and our high school students have a 97% daily attendance rate.
