Our Mission
Opening Doors to Opportunity Through Education
The mission of The Scholarship Fund for Inner-City Children (SFIC) is to provide children in need with the opportunity for a quality, values-based education in a safe environment. Our recipients come from economically disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds within Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Union counties in New Jersey. Our tuition assistance is based on need without regard to gender, race, religion or ethnic background.
A Mission Rooted in Hope
For more than four decades, SFIC has partnered with families, schools, and donors to remove financial barriers to quality education. Our scholarships allow parents to choose learning environments where their children are known, cared for, and challenged to reach their full potential.
Today, our mission is growing to include new college pathways, helping students move from strong K–12 foundations into higher education, meaningful careers, and long-term stability.
