SFIC Celebrates Black History Month

SFIC Celebrated Black History Month with An Afternoon of Black Music

This year The Scholarship Fund for Inner-City Children celebrated Black History Month with “An Afternoon of Black Music & Art”. The event took place on February 8th and was sponsored by Provident Bank.

The event featured artwork & music from local artists and musicians from the Newark area. We were extremely honored to have the President of Bloomfield College, Dr. Marchetta Evans, as a special guest. Dr. Evans is the first woman and first African American President of Bloomfield College in the school’s 150-year history. She spoke to our guests about the importance of celebrating Black history through music and art.
