You can help inner-city children receive a high quality values-based education while taking advantage of the tax benefits available to you through numerous ways of giving.
Cash: Cash donations are the simplest method of contribution. Government tax codes allow you to deduct the full amount of your cash gift in the calendar year of the contribution, subject to certain limitations outlined by the IRS.
Pledges: Pledging allows you to make a large contribution payable over a period of time. Pledge payments can be made by cash or charged to your credit card on a monthly, bi-monthly, quarerly, semi-annual or annual basis.
Online Donations: Contributions can be made online through PayPal.
Matching Gift Programs: Many companies offer matching funds to donations made by employees. Check with your human resources office to see if your employer has a Matching Gift Program. If so, simply fill out the form and send it to us along with your donation. An acknowledgement letter will be sent to you as a tax record of your gift. We will complete and submit the matching gift request to your employer. Click here for list of companies participating in a Matching Gift Program that supports SFIC.
Gifts of Securities: Many individuals choose to support The Scholarship Fund for Inner-City Children (SFIC) through gifts of appreciated shares of stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and other securities. By directly gifting these securities to SFIC, you will avoid paying the capital gains tax on the appreciation and receive a charitable deduction for the full fair market value.
If you send SFIC any stock via the Archdiocese of Newark, please clearly designate it for The Scholarship Fund for Inner-City Children so that your gift may be properly credited and acknowledged.
