Scholarship Fund for Inner-City Children (SFIC) Executive Director, Gerry O’Connor and his wife Jackie O’Connor were recently honored by Mount St. Dominic Academy (MSDA) at their Hall of Fame Gala on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at The Valley Regency in Clifton. The event recognized members of The Mount community who have brought outstanding honor to themselves, to their family, to society, to humanity and therefore, to The Mount by their accomplishments in the field which they have chosen and/or by the life they have led.
The O’Connors’ are parents of three Mount graduates. They are long time supporters of Catholic education. Jackie is a staff member of the MSDA Advancement Team and Gerry is the Executive Director of The Scholarship Fund for Inner-City Children and also is the volunteer Athletic Director for St. Josephs’ CYO in Maplewood.
Also honored at the gala were: Mairead Costello Clifford, co-founder of Trinity Hall, the only all girls high school in Monmouth County, NJ; the Honorable Madeline Cox Arleo, US District Judge, pioneer of the annual MSDA Pink Mass, parent of MSDA senior and Alumna of Dominican education; Reverend Michael A. Hanly, retired pastor of Our Lady of the Lake Parish, Verona, fervent supporter of the young women of MSDA, and celebrant of many Mount liturgies. The evening was hosted by Mount St. Dominic Alumna Theresa Priolo, Reporter/Anchor for FOX 5 News and Good Day New York; and chaired by Mount Alumna Monica Perkowski and former Mount principal Sister Jeanne Adrienne, OP.
